Interactive site where you can create your classroom floorplan online, with ease! Nice drag and drop feature. It’s pretty basic though, as the furniture and objects you can play with are restricted to one size. There is a drawing feature, but that’s a little more tedious. Nonetheless, it’s a nice way to quickly see how your classroom can look without rearranging your furniture in real life. They even have a save and print function. Teachers, check it out!
I did something similar for my webdesign class, when I was designing my thesis website (still in progress). It’s nice to see that this really exists out on the web for teachers!
Test scores increased as much as 26 percent among students who learned in classrooms filled with natural light, according to a study by Heschong Mahone Group of Sacramento, Calif. that looked at 20,000 California, Colorado and Massachusetts in 1998 and 2002.
Learning depends on several factors, but a crucial step is the engagement of the learner. This is affected by their motivation and perception of relevance. These, in turn, can be affected by learners’ previous experiences and preferred learning styles and by the context and environment in which the learning is taking place. In adult learning theories, teaching is as much about setting the context or climate for learning as it is about imparting knowledge or sharing expertise.
I was talking to a friend and he linked me over to this site that allows teachers to post their classroom project material needs and people can donate money to make these projects become a reality! Simple idea, and it seems to work! Teachers, this is a must-go-to site!
New Official Site Coming Soon
Long time in the making, but a new website is in the making and coming soon. Going to work on it as soon as my finals are over. Busy busy!
Not just for gaming anymore. A $50 digital interactive whiteboard using a Wii remote? This could be so useful in classrooms! Software can be downloaded for free, too!
